Planning to begin your first Great Loop later this year or in 2027? If so, AGLCA's Small Group Mentoring Program is designed just for you.

This free member benefit connects you with a small group of fellow future Loopers and experienced Gold and Platinum Loopers who are eager to share what they've learned, answer your questions, and help you prepare for a successful Great Loop adventure. Just as importantly, it's an opportunity to begin building the relationships that are such a special part of the Great Loop experience. Many lifelong friendships begin long before the dock lines are cast off.

Based on your responses during registration, we'll match you with other participants who have similar plans and questions, along with mentors whose experience best fits your needs. You'll remain with the same group and mentors throughout the four-month program, giving you the opportunity to build relationships and benefit from ongoing discussions as your plans progress.

Because the mentoring experience depends on everyone participating, registrants must commit to attending all four sessions. Space is limited, and we want to ensure every seat is filled by someone who is able to fully participate.

The mentoring sessions will be held via Zoom from 7:00–8:30 p.m. Eastern on the following dates:

  • August 12 – Preparing Your "Dirt Life" Before You Cast Off
  • September 9 – Planning for Life Aboard
  • October 14 – Route Planning, Questions, and Recommendations
  • November 11 – Favorite Looper Apps and Technology

Each session will include discussion, questions, and the opportunity to learn not only from your mentors but also from others in your small group who are planning their own Great Loop adventures. By the time you cast off, you'll already know a handful of fellow Loopers who are cheering you on and sharing the journey with you.

Additional details about your mentor group and Zoom access information will be emailed prior to the first meeting.

Participation is free for AGLCA members, but enrollment is limited to keep the groups small and interactive. Registration is open to members planning to begin their first Great Loop later this year or anytime in 2027.

Registration will remain open through Friday, July 31, or until all groups reach capacity, whichever comes first.
