Sage: 1992 Mummery 54' Steel Trawler, Gold Loop Veteran
Built by Mummery Boat Works in Dover, Ontario, this custom 1992 welded-steel trawler measures 54 feet on deck and 60 feet overall, with a 16-foot beam and 5-foot draft. Air draft is 20 feet with the mast up and 14 feet with it lowered. Prospective buyers should ask Jim about the exact mast-lowering configuration and procedure.
Her owners report a stem-to-stern refit in 2011 that included new marine-grade wiring, plumbing and lines, water and holding tanks, and custom woodwork.
Her single Detroit Diesel 4-71N turns through a Twin Disc 3:1 marine gear. Loop-oriented equipment includes a bow thruster, full keel, 500 gallons of fuel, 150 gallons of fresh water, 140 gallons of holding capacity, a 23 kW Cummins Onan generator, twin mini-split heat and air conditioning, Garmin radar, GPS chartplotter, depth sounder, VHF, electric windlass, and crane. The owner reports an 8-plus-knot cruise speed.
The liveaboard layout has two cabins and three electric heads. The galley has a propane range and oven, full-size refrigerator, chest freezer, ice maker, microwave, and quartz counters. A covered aft deck extends the living space outdoors. An 11-foot-6-inch Achilles hard-shell inflatable with a 20 hp Tohatsu is shown aboard; its inclusion in the sale will be confirmed in the final signed inventory.
Sage is offered by her owners at $349,900 in Bay City, Michigan, on the Saginaw River just off Lake Huron. An independent survey, haul-out, and sea trial can be arranged with the owner.
