Meridian 459
The salon is expansive (fully 14 feet in breadth), with a gorgeous Teak & Holly deck, twin settees, large windows for panoramic views, and a 43" flat screen smart TV with a 3’ Bluetooth capable soundbar. High speed internet is provided through a new (2024) Gen 3 Starlink antenna. A fully equipped galley (new refrigerator 2022) and new stove top (2023) ensures effortless meal preparation, while the flybridge provides a commanding view with wraparound seating and a wet bar. Below the salon are steps which lead to a locker housing the washing machine and the integrated vacuum system.
All upholstery above decks (including helm chair) was replaced in 2021 and is in excellent condition. New canvas was redesigned and installed in 2022. Carpeting in forward and aft staterooms was completely replaced in 2023.
With twin 370 hp Cummins diesel engines, bow and stern thrusters, and updated electronic navigation systems, she delivers both power and ease of handling. Whether cruising the coastline or the entire Great Loop...or enjoying a sunset on the aft deck, this yacht embodies elegance and practicality.
Mechanical Systems
Outfitted with twin Cummins 6BTA main propulsion diesels (370 hp each) in an exceptionally clean engine compartment, she cruises comfortably and affordably at 10 mph but can reach 23 mph with a clean hull. The engine blocks were changed out at 1300 hours by a previous owner, and now have an additional 1900 hours on the new blocks. This boat is equipped with an 11.5 kw Onan diesel generator which is located within its own silencing enclosure below decks in the lazarette under the cockpit...keeping it surprisingly quiet when running.
The boat’s 12-volt system includes four new (2025) Group 31 AGM start batteries (one each to start the port main engine (and generator), the starboard main engine, the stern thruster, and the bow thruster). The 12-volt house bank includes three paralleled Group 31 AGM deep cycle batteries (combined total of 315 amp-hours). A 60-amp 110-volt charging system is complemented when underway by new (2021) twin 105-amp alternators (one on each engine).
Detailed maintenance records for every maintenance service (oil changes, filter changes, impeller changes, coolant system flushing, etc.) since 2021 are available for review. New cutlass bearings were installed in 2021, shafts and shaft couplings were replaced in 2022 with rope cutters, as were all 4 engine vibration dampening mounts for each main engine. New seawater heat exchangers were replaced on each engine jn 2023. Fuel is filtered through 3 separate in-line fuel filter systems for the main engines, and 2 in-line fuel filters for the generator. New bow thruster (2023) and stern thruster (2024) have been installed. Main engine compartment bilge and lazarette bilge have “dry bilge” systems installed.
Galley Equipment
The fully-equipped galley is located adjacent to the salon, and includes a new (2022) refrigerator / freezer, new (2023) 2-burner radiant heat stove top, microwave, nicely sized KitchenAid toaster over, and plenty of above and below deck storage.
Deck & Hull Equipment
The expansive and open cockpit is easily accessible through the aft stateroom’s sliding glass doors, offering both a protected exterior deck environment, and an exterior working space for line handling and fishing. Immediately aft of the cockpit is a large full-breadth swim platform, with a custom designed electric-powered davit for rapid and easy lowering and raising of the 2018 Highfield 10.1 rigid-hull inflatable dingy, powered by a 2018 4-stroke 20 hp Tohatsu outboard (with power tilt & trim).
Forward of the cockpit, and up the short set of integrated steps is the “aft cabin” under the hardtop, with partial surround seating and white fiberglass table, perfect for outdoor eating and conversation. The aft cabin is typically surrounded by weather protection (clear plastic and screen), but can be open air if desired.
A few steps further up is the capacious command fly-bridge with 360-degree visibility, and a centerline helm seat (new 2021) and a well-appointed and pilot-friendly console, with throttle (starboard side) and shifter (port side controls). Twin joy sticks (new 2023) for bow and stern thrusters are immediately to the right of the helm wheel. Comfortable seating (new upholstery in 2021) surrounds the fly-bridge for enjoyable participation by guests when cruising.
The safe and accessible walkways through the forward facing aft-cabin doors lead to the foredeck, which is open for line handling and anchoring, but also includes integrated (new 2022) bow cushions for sunbathing / napping. The anchor system includes a Lewmar electric windlass (with helm-mounted integrated digital chain counter), which powers the 300 feet of 5/16” G4 chain anchor rode, attached via a Mantus swivel to a 55-lb Mantus anchor. Both a light weather and a heavy weather anchor bridle are stowed alongside the anchor locker. A secondary 45 lb anchor with shorter rode is stowed below decks for emergency use.
