"Spartina" is a classic 2003 Nova Scotia built Monk 36 trawler, hull #228. Renowned for its durable construction and seaworthy semi-displacement hull and built for comfort and long-range cruising, this vessel completed the Loop in 2023 and just returned from the Bahamas this Spring. With its dual helm stations, reliable diesel engine, generator, and bow thruster, it is turn-key and ready for its next adventure.

Key Features

Dual Staterooms/Heads:
Features a full-beam master aft stateroom with ample storage and an ensuite head. Forward guest V-berth has an adjacent head, offering privacy and comfort. Electric Raritan Elegance toilets in each head. 2 air conditioning units with reverse cycle heat.

Spacious Interior:
Traditional all-teak interior with a full L-shaped galley, a stand-up refrigerator/freezer, propane stove/oven, and a settee with table. There is some water staining under the windows from the previous owner and some wear on the cabin sole.

Engine:
Single Cummins 6BT 5.9L 220 HP Turbo Diesel Engine with 3,314 hours offers an efficient 8 to 9 knot cruise speed, ideal for extended cruising with a large fuel capacity (320 gallons across two tanks).

Generator:
Onan 8kw with 1600 hours

Dinghy:
2017 RIB is in fair shape but serviceable. Fuel-injected 15hp Tohatsu bought new in 2022 planes easily with 4 adults. Kato davits are in good condition.
