***Updated 9/11: Another notice is out. The dates have changed again. The unrestricted lockage period began yesterday at Marseilles and Starved Rock (it was most recently scheduled for tomorrow, 9/12). The date/time for full closure at Marseilles and Starved Rock to begin is now 0600 on 9/20. This is moved up one day, which is bad news for those of you rushing to make it through before full closure begins.
Lockport's date has not changed. Full closure there will still begin on 9/21.
Marseilles (MM 245) and Starved Rock (MM 232) are on a partial closure schedule through 1800 on September 12. This means they are closed to traffic from 0600-1800 daily. Pleasure craft are often able to lock through just before the work begins for the day, at about 0530. Call the lock the day before to arrange lockage.
Marseilles (MM 245) and Starved Rock (MM 232) will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from 1800 September 12 through 0600 September 21. Expect a backlog of commercial traffic.
Marseilles (MM 245), Starved Rock (MM 232), and Lockport (MM 294) will be closed to all traffic from September 21 - October 5.
