After leaving Fort Edward we headed toward Whitehall marina. We stayed there two days because of weather. Sure have seen a lot of rain during this trip. From Whitehall we went to the Champlain marina in Vermont where there were actually three looper boats (you can tell a looper boat by the burgee). The marina was very nice. We rode our bikes into Burlington. It was a bit further than we thought, but it was a lovely day for a bike ride.
We left Champlain marina in Vermont and crossed Lake Champlain to Plattsburg NY where we stayed at Snug Harbor marina. When we attended the rendezvous back in April, we met a friendly couple (Jerry and Peg) from Plattsburg NY. They keep their boat at Snug Harbor. It was good to see them again. Because they have been to Canada many times, they were able to give us good information about that leg of our journey. Not only that, but they gave us a ride to Walmart to grocery shop and pick up a printer. After Walmart, we went to one of their favorite Mexican restaurants and drove about the city to see some highlights. All this in the pouring rain. Thanks so much Jerry and Peggy!
I must say, for all the negative aspects of this "Great (questionable) Loop" journey, we have met some wonderful people. In my opinion, it's all about the people.
