We left Atlantic City for Great Kills around 5:30 am. It was a nine hour ride so we wanted to leave early. Three boats had already departed prior to our leaving. The weather conditions were much better than the previous day. The winds were between 5-1- knots with seas around 3 feet. Not quite the roller coaster ride as yesterday.
Tom's daughter Alyssa was going to meet us in Great Kills. She's lived in NY for eleven years and really knows her way around. She hoped on the subway and caught an express bus. She arrived around 5:30. When we pulled into Great Kills, they were having a party for the beginning of boating season. John, the harbor host, insisted we join them for food and drink. Tom had already eaten lunch, but I joined in. I had clam chowder, excellent sausage and peppers and a Miller Lite......what more would a person need? The people of the yacht club were all so friendly. It's a working club and there is a seventeen year waiting list to join. It's the type of club I would like to join.
We left Great Kills the next day for Liberty Landing whic is in Jersey City across from Manhattan in NY.
