Friday, June 28th: Route Briefing (covering the Trent Severn Waterway, Georgian Bay & the North Channel)

Join the 2019 Fleet of Loopers at the Gateway to the Trent Severn, Trent Port Marina!

Many Loopers will be in Canada during the summer, and we've timed this seminar to provide the 2019 Fleet, and others who are planning for the Great Loop, important information about the route ahead.

Hear details about how to navigate the Trent Severn Waterway, including specifics about its unique locks and its history, presented by Parks Canada's Manager of Canal Operations, Chad Buchner.

Chad has a family legacy of serving on the Trent Severn as lock masters.  We'll also include a session on the life of a lock master that will tell you what it's like for those who lock through boats in the small town on this historic waterway.

Then, we'll cover Georgian Bay and the North Channel, focusing on how to navigate these waterways safely as well as the "must sees" and "must dos" along the way.

Whether you're still planning your Great Loop adventure and want to know more about these waterways, or you're en-route and are preparing for what's coming next, this seminar will be time well-spent!

Registration fee: $49 USD (includes lunch)

Saturday, June 29th: Great Loop Cruising - A Guide to the Looper Lifestyle

Ever wonder what it's really like to cruise America's Great Loop? Our seminar, "Great Loop Cruising: A Guide to the Looper Lifestyle" is for you!

Many of us have a Great Loop cruise on our bucket list. But, few actually move beyond just dreaming of the Loop to investigating whether and how to make it a reality. America's Great Loop Cruisers' Association is pleased to introduce this new, one-day seminar designed to help answer the questions most people have about the Great Loop.

  • How much time and money will it take?
  • What kind of a boat do I need?
  • How can I leave my home/kids/grandkids for an extended period of time?
  • Will my spouse and I still like each other after spending so much time together?
  • Is it safe?
  • What will I see along the way?
  • I like my lifestyle. Can my life on the water replicate what I have at home?
  • We've never handled a large boat before. How do we gain experience?
If these are questions you (or your spouse) have pondered, this seminar is for you.

We'll also bring in several Gold Loopers (those who have completed the route) to share the stories of their adventures.

Registration Fee:  $99 USD (lunch and a one-year of AGLCA membership or membership extension included for each person registered!)

Looper Crawl: Registrants for either day's seminar may join us Friday afternoon for everyone's favorite event! If you will be attending by boat, you can sign up to show your boat on the Crawl during registration. All registrants are welcome to attend the Crawl.  The Looper Crawl is a crowd favorite ~ get up close and personal with members' Looping boats and ask questions. It's a great way to help you decide what you want and what you need in a Loop boat.  The Looper Crawl will take place on Friday, June 28th from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Both seminars will be held at the Gathering Hall at AGLCA sponsor, Trent Port Marina.
