We've been living the good life these past two weeks. No doubt about it. The weather has warmed up. It's in the 80's every day with a nice, sometimes strong breeze. We met more boaters and had some visitors too. Perhaps, above all, we've had some incredible meals!
Tim and Pat Jackson drove down from the mainland and stayed with us for two nights, the 7th and 8th. We shared the island sights like Southernmost Point, the Lighthouse (great view), and the Truman Annexand. We tried every restaurant we could squeeze in including: Blue Heaven, Pepes, Joses, Santiago's Bodega, and drinks at many more. They arrived with lots of wine and friendship and we enjoyed both.
Later we met up with Bob and Lisa Krupiarz, who we had seen in South Haven, MI, back in September. Jim swam at FKCC with Bob on Monday the 12th and we all had lunch at the Hogfish Grill on Wednesday, the 14th.
On Friday, the 16th, we arranged to catch up with Fred and Susie Batts, who were visiting their friends and former Northport boaters John and Priscilla. They generously treated us to a tasty meal and fun conversation at Blue Heaven. They took the Key West Express from Fort Myers.
During these two weeks we also worked in a trip to Smathers Beach, as well as, the regular trips to the grocery store and bike rides to the nearby CVS and French Croissant Bakery. Andrea keeps piling up the steps, both walking and running, while Jim swims and bikes to and from the pool. Our new area rug arrived, replacing the original that was abused by dog and man on the river portion of the trip. We'll be staying here until at least the 7th of March. It looks like the Bahamas may be out, but we've got lots of great alternatives. More later.
