We've transitioned nicely to life in Key West. After checking out the public pool which was fine but 70 degrees, Jim found a better option in the Florida Keys Community College Pool right here on Stock Island. It's 8 lanes, lightly used and it's HEATED! So Jim is swimming every day along with the bike ride to and from the pool. Andrea continues to wear out her fitbit with long walks and she has started running again.
The marina is outstanding with the pool, bar, lounge, dog park, and hourly shuttle to town or the grocery store. They even do weekly pumpouts in the slip. We have ridden our bikes all over town and been to half a dozen restaurants already. We caught a movie (The Post) and bought Kino sandals.
We've experienced a Looper potluck dinner at the Galleon Marina and we were treated to a dinner at Blue Heaven by my former student Norm Buckwalter and his wife Lara. We anticipated eating at El Siboney, a Cuban restaurant, we ate the last time we were here and then discovered they had just opened another location 3 blocks from the marina. Very nice.
Charlie gets lots of attention from the other boaters and seems to enjoy life here.
