2017 Fall Rendezvous Updates
Keep up-to-date on last minute changes to the 2017 Fall Rendezvous in one place!
October 15, 2017
1 Day Until the Fall Rendezvous!
Tip #8 - Introduce Yourself!
Early in the Rendezvous, we ask attendees to join us at the mic and introduce themselves to the group. This is very informal, always a lot of fun, and a great way to learn more about your fellow Loopers!
Please plan to briefly share who you are, where you're from, what type of boat you have (if you own one). You can also share one or two details about when or why you want to do the Loop or your best short story of an experience you've had on the Loop.
Current Looper introductions are Monday at 4:45 p.m. Gold Loopers will be introduced during dinner on Monday, and planners will be introduced during dinner on Tuesday.
The Rendezvous begins tomorrow and the AGLCA staff is already on site. We can't wait to see you all!

2 Days Until the Fall Rendezvous!
Tip #7 - Get on the Water
It's a Fall Rendezvous tradition! Our annual kayak and dinghy races will once again be held at the Joe Wheeler Marina.
The kayak race is Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. Kayaks will be provided and no previous paddling experience is needed. Meet at the gazebo on the docks and get ready to paddle, or just come watch the fun!
The dinghy race is back and it has a twist. It's not about the size of the dinghy or power of your engine! So hop in and motor (or row!) over to the gazebo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday to join in the fun!
2 days to go, and the AGLCA staff is packing up the vans with equipment and goodies for all of you! We'll see you soon.

3 Days Until the Fall Rendezvous!
Tip #6 - Renew your AGLCA Membership at 50% Off
To show our appreciation for members who attend, AGLCA gives you 50% off any length membership renewal during the Rendezvous. You can save up to $275!
Take advantage of this offer by seeing Julie Shea in the member services area (in the mezzanine off the lodge lobby) on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

4 Days Until the Fall Rendezvous!
Tip #5 - Win a Free 3-Year AGLCA Membership!
PLUS, read on to find Round Table Assignments and instructions.
There are many opportunities to win a free 3-year AGLCA membership at the Rendezvous:
Visit the sponsor exhibits: Your name badge holder will include a yellow punch card with a list of the exhibitors on the back. Visit each exhibit and have the sponsor initial the card. Cards with all sponsor initials will be entered into a drawing for a three-year membership extension.
Attend the sponsor Show & Tell sessions: Also in your name badge holder will be a green card with boxes for each of the sponsor Show & Tell sessions. Attend each of these seminars and have a box stamped. Cards with all boxes stamped will be entered into a drawing for a three-year membership extension.
Play "Looper Bingo": Pick up a Looper Bingo card at registration. Find other attendees that meet the criteria listed in the boxes. Get five in a row up, down, or diagonally and be entered into a drawing for a three-year membership extension.
In case you don't win any of the drawings described above, tomorrow's tip will share how to get 50% off your AGLCA membership!
Round Table Info
If you signed up for the round tables, please arrive at the main conference room at the Joe Wheeler Lodge (on the restaurant level) at 1pm on Monday. Attached at the bottom of this message is a list of table assignments by last name of the primary Rendezvous registrant. Simply look for your table number as you enter the conference room. We've tried to mix the level of Looping experience at each table. All tables have some Loopers-in-progress and some planners, and almost all have Gold Loopers as well. We ask that the more experienced Loopers help facilitate the group. It seems to work well if everyone introduces themselves and tells a bit about their Loop experiences or plans, and then move to an open discussion/Q&A.
October 11, 2017
If you are attending the Rendezvous via boat, here is what's happening at the Wilson Lock:
They expect to finish work for the day on Friday the 20th, Saturday the 21st, and Sunday the 22nd by 4:30 p.m. and will lock pleasure boats through at that time if you arrive early, are waiting, and there is no tow ahead of you in the queue. The key phrase there is arrive early.
They can have additional staff to do a one-time lock through in the auxiliary chamber for pleasure craft at a set time on Monday, 10/23. We will have to organize a specific time if there are enough boats wanting to do this.

5 Days Until the Fall Rendezvous!
Tip #4 - Polo, Anyone?
The town of Rogersville really rolls out the red carpet for Loopers when we come to town! We'll be having the traditional Rogersville Crawl on Wednesday afternoon with transportation provided to visit shops and restaurants. The buses will begin running from the Joe Wheeler Lodge into town at 3:30 p.m.
Again this year, the evening event will take place at a polo field! Buses will take you to Peytona Farms for stable tours, horse races, and an exhibition polo match, followed by dinner and a concert. This is a BYOB event, and we'll have a car transporting your alcohol to Peytona Farms for you (you cannot bring it on the bus). Participating in this optional add-on to the Rendezvous is $40/person (dinner included). If you have not already signed-up, it's not too late. You can sign up and pay during the on-site registration period on Monday.
The Rendezvous starts in 5 days!
October 10, 2017
"Emergency Medicine at Sea" from the Looping 101 track on Wednesday morning has been cancelled. Reluctant Partners will fill that session and is now scheduled from 8:45am-10:15am.

6 Days Until the Fall Rendezvous!
Tip #3 - Don't Miss the Looper Crawls
Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.,
Wednesday from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.
Looper Crawls are an opportunity for attendees to meander the docks and board many of the Looper boats tied up at the marina. If you're still contemplating what type of boat you want for the Great Loop, it's a great time to see many Loop-capable boats in one place. Or, if you already have your Looping boat, it's a chance to see how others have organized their galleys, stored their spare parts, etc.
For those Loopers with boats in the marina who didn't sign up to put the boat on the crawls when they registered for the Rendezvous, it's not too late. You can still add your boat to the crawl list during registration on Monday. For all Loopers whose boats are on the crawl, please pick up a red "Looper Crawl" sign to hang on your boat on Monday during registration.
Those wanting to board the boats do not need to sign up. Just look for the red signs as an indicator that you're welcome to board.
Many of you with boats at the marina also signed up to have a Vessel Safety Check performed by certified examiners. If you did not sign up for a VSC during on-line registration for the Rendezvous, please add your name to the list during on-site registration on Monday. We will do our best to accommodate you.
Only 6 more days to wait for the Rendezvous to begin!
October 9, 2017
7 Days Until the Fall Rendezvous!
Tip #2 - Participate in Round Tables
Pre-Rendezvous - Monday at 1:00 p.m.
If you've signed up to take part in our Round Tables, the small groups we've created will meet in the main conference room (located on the restaurant level of the lodge) at 1:00 p.m. on Monday -- just before the Rendezvous officially begins. Groups of 8 to 10 Loopers have been organized so that each group includes Loopers who have various experience levels. This is an opportunity to start the event by asking some questions, getting some answers, and meeting other attendees.
If you haven't already signed up, it's not too late to join the fun. Just reply to this message letting me know you'd like to be included. We will email group numbers to all participants as soon as they are finalized.
We'll see you in just 8 days!

8 Days Until the Fall Rendezvous!
Tip #1 - Have you downloaded the AGLCA App?
It's almost here! The long awaited Fall Rendezvous is just around the corner. As we begin the countdown, we'll be sharing a tip each day that will help you make the most of your time at the Rendezvous.
Tip #1: Nearly everything you need to know about the agenda and last minute changes to it can be found in the AGLCA App. If you have not yet downloaded it, search for America's Great Loop Cruisers in the Apple store or Google Play store (or click here). We sent earlier emails with more details, but the app is pretty straightforward and easy to use. We'll be pushing alerts, schedule changes, etc., through the app during the event.
If you prefer old-school paper to learn about the agenda, speakers, sponsors, and attendees, that will be available on-site at the Rendezvous.
We're also posting this tip series each day to the page we've created with Rendezvous Updates so that if you miss an email, the details are still available to you.
Please let us know if you have any questions about the app (or anything else about the Rendezvous). We're happy to help!
We're excited to see you all in 9 days!

If you haven't already done so, download the AGLCA Mobile App following the instructions found here.
